
Abtin Safaeian
President, USSUAbtin Safaeian is a fourth year student at the University of Saskatchewan, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Mathematics. His academic interests centre on brain computer interfaces and neuroplasticity, with a particular focus on how neural systems adapt over time to improve interaction with external technologies through brain derived signals. Abtin has built a strong foundation in leadership and community involvement. His leadership journey began at a young age in high school, where he served as president of the Chess, Rubik's Cube, and Visual Arts clubs and as co-president of the Debate Club, while also contributing to the student council and participating in a wide range of volunteer activities. Later at the University of Saskatchewan, he held several executive positions, including Vice President of Marketing for the USask Entrepreneurs' Club and President of the USask Table Tennis Club. As President of the University of Saskatchewan Students' Union, Abtin applies his experience in student leadership and management and is committed to advancing USask’s vision of being what the world needs while enhancing the university experience for all students.
